Are you interested in learning how those animals benefit their environments? Are you fascinated by the survival traits that animals use to get to the top of the food chain? Then this class is for you! In this class, we’re going to learn about the different types of apex predators throughout the world, how they interact with their environments, and how they’ve been able to outlast other species. We’ll be discussing different ecosystems, hunting techniques, and the histories of these animals. Exploring Nature - Grades 1 - 3June - 9:00 ClassFullWould you rather be outdoors than indoors? Students will have an opportunity to go on nature walks, discover birds living near and around them, identify trees and prairie plants, maintain gardens, and identify pond life. Students will have the opportunity to creatively read and write nonfiction books, photograph nature, and participate in hands-on projects that promote reducing, reusing, and recycling. Promote Positive Climate at School! - Grades 4 & 5June - 9:00 ClassHelp promote positive climate helping with PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)! Students will help with writing and acting in "Cool Tools" which are PBIS expectation videos within our schools (hallway, lunchroom, playground, etc). Students will also help create posters to promote expectations, and have the chance to come up with other ideas surrounding PBIS. We will also use this time to practice expectations at recess with an emphasis on problem-solving. Yoga With Tumbling - Grades 1 & 2June - 9:00 ClassIn this class, students will learn the importance of stretching with yoga poses set to fun stories and adventures that will prepare their bodies for motion, increase flexibility and balance, and increase muscle strength before learning and practicing basic tumbling moves. Students will enjoy tumbling skills like somersaults, cartwheels, back bends, and head/handstands. Students will work within their own comfort and ability level, with guidance from a teacher. Come and enjoy a fun hour of yoga and tumbling! Remember to dress appropriately to move around comfortably (shorts under skirts and dresses, tennis shoes, etc.).
