Parenting with Pride - Begins Monday, March 17
Parenting is hard work! Parenting with Pride focuses on social-emotional development and strengthens the relationship between child and parent. Our goal is to help families create a calmer household, build and maintain positive relationships with each child, and help parents improve child behaviors with effective communication. Following dinner, parents meet as a group and kids have supervised time. The Parenting with Pride class uses Teacher-Child Interaction Training (TCIT) concepts, which are designed to strengthen positive relationship skills. TCIT teaches effective parent-child interactions and emphasizes the importance of emotional support, helping children develop essential social and emotional skills. To gain the most benefit from this class, families should plan to attend all 6 class dates, which allows them the opportunity to learn and practice new skills. The class also includes time each week for parents to practice using the skills through a special play time.
