Explore the joy of movement and discover the many benefits of early childhood dance classes!
In this six-week class, we will dance, sing, and play in both one-on-one activities and group activities. Through circle songs, open exploration, and gross motor development exercises, children will blossom with each passing class as they grow their social, emotional, and physical skills.
Dancers will be dancing barefoot for this class, so please no ballet shoes, tap shoes or footed tights. Dress in comfortable clothing.
Keira Anderson was first introduced to dance through a community education program, and that experience sparked a lifelong passion for movement and expression. This early exposure to dance through community education ignited a deep love for the discipline that has only grown stronger over the years. Her years of dance training include jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, heels, and musical theater. As part of her high school dance team, she gained training in Pom and was individually named to the all-state team as a soloist. She is excited to continue both her academic education and dancing at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Keira is currently employed at Helmer Dance Studio, where she is a teacher of the Discover Dance Experience program, specializing in Early Childhood Dance Education. In this role, she works with young children, ages 18 months to 5 years, guiding them through movement exploration, basic dance techniques, and brain-based activities that promote cognitive, physical, and emotional development. This experience has not only honed her ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible way but has also taught her the importance of fostering a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels comfortable and encouraged to explore dance at their own pace.
Keira's goal as a teacher is to inspire students, regardless of age or skill level, to experience the joy of dance and movement in a welcoming, creative, and supportive environment.
