Please visit the District Website, hudsonraiders.org - and click on the Community Tab, Community Education. Fee: $50.00/per season. (The league meets 22 times throughout the season, cost is approximately $2.27/Saturday.) Basketball Coordinator, Matt Carlson ** Participants are required to bring both a black and white shirt each day. All participants must register through the Community Education Office or online. No basketball during District Holidays (November 25), Winter Break (December 23 and December 30), Spring Break (March 16), or if school is canceled. On Saturday, January 20th, the league will meet at the Rivercrest Elementary School Gym (not Willow River Elementary) due to a school event.

Adult Pottery - Hand Building & Wheel Instruction with Stoneware Clay

In this three-session class, participants will be introduced to basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Using stoneware clay and earth tone glazes, participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. The first two sessions are devoted to creating and the last session will focus on glazing. Both new and returning students are welcome. Participants are encouraged to dress in grubby clothes and bring an apron or towel. Class meets at Craig Seath's Studio (1023 7th St, Hudson WI). Please go to the building/studio behind the house. Please bring $35.00 for a material fee/person, which will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class. The same instruction will be presented at each session; multiple sessions are offered for participant convenience.

Integrate what you've learned in Yoga 101 (not a required prerequisite) in this regular yoga class flow. An introduction to the principles of foundation, alignment and breath. Self-awareness and acceptance are essential. Honoring the beginner’s mind, we introduce basic poses that flow together. Build strength, increase flexibility and muscle tone, reduce stress and increase lung capacity. All levels are welcome. You’ll need to bring your own yoga mat. A bottle of water is recommended.

Join Jennifer Lotze. the Hudson School District's Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning - Technology, to learn what to look for and how to protect yourself from relationship scams, charity scams, non-existent credit card offers, email phishing and more. This is one of Community Education's most requested classes. and it receives excellent evaluations: "Jen's personality as a presenter is great! She is knowledgeable, energetic, witty and kept everything interesting and relevant." "Seniors and adults who did not grow up with computers and cellphones are at a disadvantage. By the time we figure something out, it's already obsolete and we have to figure out the next thing. This class was excellent." Gingerbread House Bake & Build

Have some fun participating in this LIVE virtual Family Fun BAKE-ALONG class, as you BAKE & BUILD your own GINGERBREAD HOUSE together! Start a new holiday family tradition and create lifelong memories as you bring your family together to create a show-stopping edible work of art! Together, we will combine the wonderful flavors of gingerbread and use the dough to create the pieces that will be used to “build” breathtaking houses, and make the stiff royal icing that will hold everything together and be used as the “glue” to decorate your houses with candies and delicious treats. Participants will receive a list of ingredients at least a week in advance of the class to allow time for shopping and preparation. Participants will also receive a template that will need to be printed and cut out before the class to be used as a “pattern” to cut out the gingerbread before it is baked. We will be using the instructor’s Gingerbread Recipe for these houses that she has tested time and time again to ensure the cookie pieces are delicious but strong enough to hold the weight of the frosting and decorations as well. Participants will receive this recipe and template in a professionally developed PDF packet. Instructions on how to prepare for the class will be included. It will be a very memorable evening! This class will take place on Zoom, a free on-line software. Participants will receive instructions on how to access the class prior to it starting. Equipment Needs: Large sheet pan, parchment paper / non-stick baking mat, rolling pin, and mixer will be needed. Other items and ingredients will be listed in the handout you will receive 5-7 days before class Note: One registration fee for this online virtual class can include immediate family members living full-time in the same home ONLY. If friends are gathering together in one person's home for a fun class, each adult friend / separate family needs to register separately. If children are participating, adult supervision is required.

Holiday Cookie and Candy Bake and Take

Students will participate as a group making cookies and candies for the holidays. Favorites like Russian Tea Cakes, Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies, Cranberry-Orange Shortbread Cookies, Chocolate Fudge and Pretzel Rods dipped in caramel and chocolate. Each student will go home with 10 dozen boxed holiday treats. All packaging is supplied.

For nearly 25 years, people all around the world have fallen in love with the characters, the story, and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Run time: 2 hours and 40 minutes, with one intermission. Price includes main floor seating and school bus transportation to and from the theater. Community Education will make every effort to accommodate seating requests; however, there is limited ability to accommodate all seating requests. No refunds will be issued after the ticket purchase deadline of December 31, 2023. Tickets may be transferred to another person if you are unable to attend the performance. Medicare can be complicated, but not knowing the basics and when to enroll can lead to increased costs and missed opportunities. The same instruction will be presented at each session; multiple sessions are offered for participant convenience. Heppner Insurance does not charge a fee. No products will be sold. The fee for this class supports Community Education's operations.

You will learn how to keep score, how to serve, return serve and play the “No Volley” zone by participating in specialized drills and instruction on court strategies. Puzzle Palooza: Jigsaw Puzzle Competition and Swap!

Are you a master at putting puzzles together? Then this is the event for you! January is National Puzzle Month, so let’s celebrate with a friendly competition! Grab your friends or come with your family and join the fun! Teams of 4 people will race against each other to see who can finish the same 500-piece jigsaw puzzle first in a two-hour time frame. (That’s 500 pieces in 7,200 seconds, or one piece being placed every 14.4 seconds!) At the start of the timer, players will unwrap their puzzle and work together to complete the puzzle before the other teams. (If no teams complete their puzzle before the time ends, the winning team will be chosen by the fewest number of loose pieces left.) Prizes will be awarded. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Tuition fee includes the puzzle your team gets to keep. Added bonus: Bring your old puzzles to exchange in a FREE puzzle swap! There are limited spots available, so please register early. Team Check in: 5:30 PM Puzzle Competition Begins: 6:00 PM Only one adult (aged 18+) needs to register for their team. It is not necessary to register all team members. When registering, you will be asked to indicate the names and ages of the other three team members.
