Community Education Youth Classes / Science/Tech/Engineering -
Community Education - Fall Winter 2024-2025

Don’t just PLAY games, CREATE them! All new games and characters! Create and learn to modify our arcade-style games using Scratch. Scratch is a programming language, developed by MIT. Basic computer skills needed (basic keyboarding and using a mouse).

Additional Technical Requirement: Scratch and Scratch account - instructions will be emailed. PC needed (Windows or MacBook), will NOT work on Chromebook, tablets or phones.

Home technical requirements for this class include:

  • Computer: PC (Windows 7 or later) or Mac (OSX) with at least a 2GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. Chromebooks and Tablets typically DO NOT work.
  • Internet: Broadband Internet
  • Webcam
  • Microphone and Speakers
  • Zoom installed on computer
  • Students should be comfortable with using a PC, mouse and keyboard

Tech Academy

Tech Academy (formerly Computer Explorers) of Minnesota is a locally-owned Twin Cities-based technology education company. Our company has a 20-year history of providing Project-Based Technology Education and Science classes, where students work together in small groups to reinforce core academic skills while learning invaluable 21st century competencies. 

Tech Academy also provides research-proven technology camps for kids and teens ages 4-15. We believe learning should be fun, innovative, challenging, and hands-on. We host more than 300 camps annually throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, and we offer 30 different classes/camps in Minecraft, Video Game Design, Programming, Engineering, Robotics, Computers and Film Making.
