Have you ever wanted to learn to play chess? Do you know how to play but want to sharpen your skills? Chess Club is the place for you!

Chess has many academic and social benefits, and fosters critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills. It is truly a recreational activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. 

Students who are new to chess will be taught the names of the pieces, how they each move, and a few basic opening moves. Students who know the game will play different opponents to sharpen their skills. 

All students will be taught and expected to use good sportsmanship as they have fun playing one of the world’s oldest and most popular board games.
