BadmintonSports & FitnessBadminton is a fun, active and fast-paced racquet sport. The quick movements help develop agility, balance and hand/eye coordination while strengthening muscles and improving heart health. The sport also helps kids develop quick-thinking, sense perception, fast reflexes and many more wonderful capabilities. All they need to do is pick up a racquet and start playing! It is a great way to take a break from the gadget world. In this class, students will learn: Racquet gripping Footwork Stance Serve Lift Lob SMASH Game Rules, and Most importantly, how to assert themselves while cooperating with others. All participants are encouraged to bring a full-length (26") badminton racquet and a water bottle. A lightweight racquet is preferred. Shuttles and a limited supply of racquets will be provided by the instructor. Please wear comfortable good grip shoes.Community Education - Spring Summer 2023

Beginner Tennis Camp (ages 12-17)Sports & FitnessThis beginner tennis camp is for Middle School and High School students who would be interested in playing High School tennis. Students must be 12 years old by the first class date. This is an introductory course. Course content includes introduction to the game of tennis, basic rules and strategy, proper stroke technique, drills and scoring, singles & doubles play. High School Tennis Camp (ages 13-18)Sports & FitnessHigh School Tennis Camp is for students currently playing tennis at High School level or USTA junior level tennis. This is an advanced camp and is intended to develop and improve a student’s skills and strokes. Students must be 13 years old by the first day of class. Camp content includes: advanced drills and strategy, proper stroke techniques including spins, proper footwork and court positioning, shot selection, Singles & Doubles strategy, winning mentally, power vs consistency, focus and concentration, and strength, stretching and fitness. Middle School Cheer & Stunt ClinicSports & FitnessInterested in being on the High School Cheer & Stunt team in the future? Come see what it's all about! Participants will learn the basics of cheerleading including the basic motions, kicks, jumps, cheers, beginning stunting and spiriting. This class will introduce students to the basics of cheer as well as give them a feel for what cheer tryouts and the cheer season is like at the high school level. Camp is open to students who will be in 6th-8th grades in Fall 2023. Tuition includes a camp t-shirt. To ensure your child receives a camp t-shirt, please register no later than June 12th. Summer Jr. Cheerleading CampSports & FitnessLearn the basics of cheerleading from the Hudson High School Cheer & Stunt team and coaches. Throughout the week, you will learn the basics of cheerleading and what it takes to be a sideline and competition cheerleader. You will also learn jumps, tumbling, and some stunting, along with a short routine. Camp is open to students who will be in grades K-5th grade in Fall 2023. Tuition includes a camp t-shirt.
