9th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance - Saturday, March 29
The 9th Annual “Daddy Daughter Dance” is a fun-filled evening of dancing and activities for young girls and the special adult in their lives. Open to girls ages 3-11 (pre-K through 5th grade). Cost is $30.00 for each parent/child couple plus $5.00 for each additional child. The evening includes live music, dancing, refreshments, a craft station, a keepsake photo and plenty of fun! Non-perishable food donations will be collected at the event for the Hudson Area Backpack Program. Your support is appreciated!
Spring and Summer Tennis is Now Open!
Community Ed offers a variety of youth tennis programs! These programs focus on the fundamentals including footwork, ball control, and racket control. Small drills and mini games are used to practice and reinforce skills.

2-Left Feet Dance Workshop

Convinced that you have 2-left feet and that dancing is not meant for you? Or, someone you know? But still, it would be helpful to know a few steps, just in case. This workshop is easy and only one session! Geared toward beginners, you’ll enjoy fun patterns, easy turns and be dancing together before you know it. More than enough to provide a full night of dancing! Couples only, please. Please register only one adult - it is not necessary to register both adults. Join us as we continue our exploration of Indian cooking. In this class, we will focus on the use of yogurt as an ingredient to prepare three uniquely different curries and demonstrate basic methods used to prepare Indian curries. The demonstration will include chicken, seafood, and one in which besan (chickpea flour) is a central ingredient. Afterwards, we will dine and continue with an informal discussion on ‘all things Indian cuisine’. No previous Indian cooking experience required.

Adult Pottery - Hand Building & Wheel Instruction with Stoneware Clay

In this three-session class, participants will be introduced to basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Using stoneware clay and earth tone glazes, participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. The first two sessions are devoted to creating and the last session will focus on glazing. Both new and returning students are welcome. Participants are encouraged to dress in grubby clothes and bring an apron or towel. Class meets at Craig Seath's Studio (1023 7th St, Hudson WI). Please go to the building/studio behind the house. Please bring $35.00 for a material fee/person, which will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of class. You will be notified when you can pick up your finished pieces at the Community Education office. The same instruction will be presented at each session; multiple sessions are offered for participant convenience.

Adult/Child Pottery Workshop Sampler

This class is for those who love to create things with their hands. During this adult/child pottery workshop sampler, participants will use a slab roller, extruder and an electric pottery wheel. We will make a variety of objects for friends and family members. Participants will also use a variety of colors to glaze their pieces at the end of class. The instructor will add a clear glaze finish and fire the pieces the following week. You will be notified when you can pick up your finished pieces at the Community Education office. Adults and children should each register separately for this class. Both new and returning students are welcome. Dress in grubby clothes. Participants are encouraged to bring an apron or towel. Basic Spanish 101
World Languages
Learning Spanish enables you to communicate with Spanish speakers in your community, at work, or when traveling. This is a beginner’s class that explores both the language and culture, and focuses on pronunciation, vocabulary, reading comprehension, basic grammar and speaking skills. Those with minimal Spanish knowledge can also join in to review and practice. Please have readily available the textbook, Practice Makes Perfect Basic Spanish, Premium Third Edition, by Dorothy Richmond to the first class session. New and used textbooks are available at www.barnesandnoble.com or www.amazon.com. This is a virtual class conducted using Zoom, a free online software. Beginner Kayak Paddle on Perch Lake

Join Mike Deneen of Willow Kayaks for this introductory kayak class and paddle on beautiful Perch Lake. The first half hour of this course will provide an introduction to kayaking and instruction. The last 60-minutes, you will get to practice your skills and free paddle on your own. We will be meeting at the Perch Lake Boat Landing at 501 Perch Lake Road. Children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult who will remain on site to supervise. Please specify your height and weight to ensure appropriate-sized equipment. Adults and children should register separately if they will be kayaking together. There is an inherent risk of accident and injury in any activity. The Hudson School District and Willow Kayaks assume no responsibility for injuries received during this activity. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver.

Beginning Cake Decorating

Learn the basics of decorating your own cakes. We will learn shell borders, stars, rosettes, writing and many ways to decorate your cake beautifully. Each student will take home their own 8'' boxed cake to enjoy. There will be optional starter kits available for purchase from the instructor for an additional $12.00. Class is open to ages 12+. (Gluten, nuts, and other ingredients will be used during this class.)

Calling All Ladies! Mastering Menopause

Have you ever felt dismissed about menopausal-like symptoms, such as energy changes, hot flashes and night sweats, mood fluctuations, weight gain, or just feeling uninformed about what is happening in your body? Then this is the class for you! This class is led by two Licensed Naturopathic Doctors and is for all ladies ages 40+. Gone are the days where women have to hide what they are going through. Menopause is a normal part of life, so let’s talk about it! In this class, you will learn about the major female hormones, their natural fluctuations, and ways to support your health during the menopausal phase of life. Both Dr. Danielle Vogler-Bos and Dr. April Jones are owners of their own private integrative medical practices and are licensed Naturopathic Doctors that specialize in women’s health, focusing attention to menstrual, thyroid, adrenal, and skin conditions, as well as fertility and menopause support.

Cell-level meditation involves recognizing the intricate relationship between cells, thoughts, emotions, and our body. You came into this world a perfect blend of high vibration for healthy cell activity. Every body system and organ functioned with ease and flow. Throughout life challenges, these relationships are hampered, and there can be a breakdown or disconnect. In this meditation series, we nurture a healthy environment for our cells to thrive through practices like meditation, mindfulness, affirmation, and self-awareness. Each student will receive an electronic journal to accompany class lessons. Students should bring a yoga mat and pillows/cushions.

Commercials, social media, billboards, packaging . . . these days, the endless nutrition information surrounding us can be overwhelming, confusing and misleading. One day we hear that a particular food is bad for us, the next we’re encouraged to stock our pantries or fridges with it! Despite this reality, healthy eating doesn’t have to be so complicated. Health and wellness professionals agree that eating patterns centered on fresh, whole foods (while minimizing or avoiding processed foods) can greatly benefit your overall health. And what better way to incorporate these kinds of foods than by shopping at our local farmers’ markets this summer?? Sometimes the difficult part is figuring out how to use these foods at home, especially when it comes to cooking on your own in the midst of a full, demanding schedule. Get ready for a fun, educational, and approachable way to learn how to incorporate more nutritious and delicious plant-based foods into your cooking and overall diet when you join a “Cooking with Kiley” session. Focaccia, Stromboli & Calzones! OH MY! Cook-Along Class

What makes a Focaccia a Focaccia, a Stromboli a Stromboli, and a Calzone a Calzone? How are they different? How are they the same? Discover the answer to these questions as you participate in this fun-filled Cook-Along Class as we dive into the world of unique Rolled & Stuffed Pizzas, and marvelous focaccia bread! Learn how to make your own homemade focaccia bread, a wonderful rolled pizza called a Stromboli, and stuffed pizzas known as Calzones with homemade pizza dough! Take out pizza may just become a thing of the past! On the Menu: Stromboli (rolled / filled pizza), Calzones (stuffed pizza), wonderful Focaccia Bread, and an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD Pizza Sauce. TWO different homemade doughs will be used: one will be for the pizza options, the other for the focaccia. The instructor will provide step-by-step guidance and instructional help to ensure the process is as simple as can be. Participants can personalize their pizzas and focaccia bread with toppings and fillings of their choosing. All recipes have been created by the instructor, and tested time and time again over the years, to ensure maximum flavor and ease. Choose which ones you would like to make and watch a demonstration of the others or if you feel up to it, make them all! You will feel like a pro after this class and be confident enough to create all of this deliciousness time and time again. Make it a date night or family night as you create lasting memories in your kitchen! Have your questions answered by the instructor, interact with other participants as you cook-along, and increase your confidence in the kitchen with each skill that is learned, and each little bit of advice and instruction that is shared. While cooking-along is loads of fun, and highly recommended, it is optional. Note: The instructor’s recipes are copyrighted and are only shared with those who register for this class. This class will take place on Zoom, a free online software. Participants will receive instructions on how to access the class prior to it starting. Participants will receive a list of ingredients 5-7 days in advance of the class to allow time for shopping and preparation. In this course, students will learn the basic essentials of music and the guitar. Topics will range from studying Music Theory to learning Basic Chords and strumming patterns. In the first two classes, students will learn basic picking and strumming techniques and a few basic chords. In the following two classes, students will learn basic music theory. In the final two classes, students will learn how to read basic music notation. Students need to bring their own guitar and an extra set of strings. This course is for students ages 12 and older. The same instruction will be presented at each session; multiple sessions are offered for participant convenience.

Have you ever wanted to make your own earrings, or the ones you have don't match your new outfits anymore? In a few hours YOU could be making your own earrings that will match any new 2025 outfit. Come enjoy and learn how to do it! You’ll also learn how to perform simple jewelry repairs and fix broken jewelry. It's simple and easy! Participants should bring a $15.00 material fee (for tool kit) to be paid directly to the instructor. The instructor will supply all other materials, including beads.

Join Carpenter Nature Center to discover the amazing life cycle of the monarch butterfly, including their astounding migration to Mexico. Learn what conservation efforts can be implemented to help protect monarchs both in your backyard and abroad. Finally, we will head out to the prairie to catch, tag, and release as many wild monarchs as we can find! After the program, join us for the FREE annual Carpenter Nature Center Art Festival showcasing local artists and their appreciation for the natural world. Please wear clothing appropriate for walking off-trail through long grass. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
