This program provides quality care in a fun, safe and caring environment.
In this course, students will continue to learn the basic essentials of music and the guitar.
In the first two classes, students will learn to play extra chords. In the remaining four classes, students will learn how to play songs. A class recital will be held on the last class date.
Students need to bring their own guitar and an extra set of strings. Students should have completed Guitar 101 or have basic familiarity with picking/strumming chords, basic music theory, and basic music notation.
Dan Shedore took an interest in music at the young age of 4 and picked up the guitar. At age 8, he started taking private lessons at Brickhouse Music and continued through high school. He attended music college at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN and received his Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance in 2013. Through the years, Dan has played in many bands with a wide variety of genres from jazz, blues, rock and more. For the past 13 years, he has taught private lessons to both youth and adults. He focuses lessons on the student's needs and takes the time to make sure each student understands the topic at hand. "Growing up with a vision impairment made learning music a challenge, but I was determined to succeed," says Dan. "I see music as a healing tool, which is why I have a passion for teaching others."
