¡Bienvenidos! Dreaming of travel, hoping to connect with Spanish-speaking friends or coworkers, or just love the idea of learning something new? This upbeat beginner Spanish class is the perfect place to start! We’ll explore the language and the culture, with a focus on pronunciation, must-know vocabulary, basic grammar, and simple conversations you can actually use. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity, a smile, and maybe a few taco cravings.

Textbook Required: Practice Makes Perfect: Basic Spanish, Premium Third Edition by Dorothy Richmond. Grab a new or used copy online at Barnes & Noble or Amazon and please have it ready for the first class.

Iris Myers

Iris Myers is a native Spanish speaker. In her country of origin, she taught English-as-a-second language to vocational Spanish-speaking students. Since 2007, she has taught Spanish classes at several community education centers and other organizations in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She’s passionate about teaching the language and engages students in learning, participating, and advancing their skills in a relaxed and fun class setting.
