Whether you are a seasoned athlete looking to cross-train or have never even touched a rugby ball, this camp is for you! Rugby is an inclusive sport built for all bodies. Every shape, size, and athletic background is valued on the pitch. This camp is an introduction to the fundamentals of rugby, designed specifically for boys and girls in grades 6–12. Our focus is entirely on fun, fitness, and fundamentals. We will break down the basics of the game—passing, catching, running lines, and basic strategy—through engaging drills and friendly, modified games.
Please wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows for plenty of movement (shorts, t-shirts, athletic socks). Plastic-molded cleats (soccer, football, or lacrosse cleats work perfectly!) are highly encouraged for better traction on the turf. Standard athletic sneakers/tennis shoes work just fine if you don’t have cleats! If your player already owns a mouthguard, please have them bring it. While this is an introductory, low-contact camp, it’s a great habit for rugby players to get used to wearing one! Bring a water bottle!
**Rain date: Aug 4 @ 6:00-7:30 PM
Hannah Timm is a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher right here at Hudson High School, and she is thrilled to bring her passion for rugby to the Hudson community!
Her rugby journey began during her college days playing for UW-Stout, where she quickly fell in love with the sport's community, strategy, and athleticism. Since then, her talent and dedication have taken her across the rugby landscape, earning selections to elite competitive teams including the Great Water 7s All-Stars, the Wisconsin U23 Select Sides, and the Midwest U23 team. Currently, she continues to play at the D1 level for the Twin Cities Amazons senior side team. She is incredibly excited to introduce Hudson to the basics of the game!
