Young nature lovers and their favorite grown-up will discover the beauty of the outdoors through a whole new lens in this fun, hands-on photography adventure! Designed for children ages 7–11 and an accompanying adult, this two-session class explores creative ways to capture amazing nature photos using just a cellphone.
During the first class, participants will learn simple photography tips and tricks before heading outside (weather permitting) for fun photo challenges and guided activities that encourage creativity, observation, and confidence behind the camera. From interesting textures and tiny details to colorful plants and outdoor scenery, there’s inspiration everywhere!
In the second class, participants will share a favorite photo captured during the week and talk about what made it special. The class will also introduce easy editing techniques that can be done right on a cellphone before heading back outside to continue practicing new skills and creative photo-taking ideas.
Adults should bring a cellphone to use for photography with their child. Youth may also bring their own cell phone if they have one. No photography experience is needed.
*Tuition covers a parent-child pair. When you register your child you will be asked for the name of the accompanying adult.
