Hudson Community Services: Community Education, School Age Care, Summer Programs

In this class we will be learning how to crochet. You will not need any experience in this beginners class. We will learn the fundamentals of the chain, single and double crochet stitches. Once these are mastered, we will be able to fly on our own to new heights. We will be making scarfs, blankets, potholders, hotpads, washcloths and more. We will also work on different projects using yarn, such as finger knitting, tiger eyes, yarn monsters, pom poms and yarn wigs.

Ever look at a pile of “junk” and see a robot? Or wondered how to build a bridge that could hold a mountain of books? If you can dream it, you can build it in this mission to invent activity! This maker experience is designed for young engineers, designers, and professional tinkers. We’re moving beyond the glue stick and diving into the world of creation.

A fun, hands-on learning experience designed to spark curiosity about the natural world through engaging experiments, outdoor exploration, and creative projects, focusing on fundamental science concepts while keeping the activities age-appropriate and exciting, often including topics like life science, physical science, and earth science with a heavy emphasis on active learning and discovery.
