Come and learn the game that is quickly growing in popularity. Mah Jongg is a captivating game with a rich history, most often played with 4 people per table. It is a great way to challenge yourself by using your brain and strategy skills. You will learn the basics of the game, how to recognize the different tiles used, and how to understand the National Mah Jongg League card which is used for the game. You will also learn the basics of game play and be able to understand the progression of the game. You may even get your first "Mah Jongg!".
Participants should plan to attend both classes in full. Content is fast-paced and arriving late/leaving early can disrupt play and affect the overall experience. Class activities rely on full tables of 4, so consistent participation ensures the best value and experience for all.
Janet Brahier fell in love with Mah Jongg in 2019 and has been playing ever since - including in tournaments in Minnesota, Illinois and Colorado. From the start she knew she wanted to share the love of the game through teaching it to others. Focusing on smaller group teaching, she takes a hands-on approach to learning and works to equip you as much as possible to be ready to play (and love) the game.
