8th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance - April 27th
The 8th Annual “Daddy Daughter Dance” will be a fun-filled evening of dancing and activities for young girls and the special men in their lives. Open to girls ages 3-11 (pre-K through 5th grade). Cost is $30.00 for each parent/child couple plus $5.00 for each additional child. The evening includes live music, dancing, refreshments, a craft station, a keepsake photo and plenty of fun! Non-perishable food donations will be collected at the event for the Hudson Area Backpack Program.

This course is a step-by-step instructional painting class using acrylic paints. Your child will learn how to mix color, learn brushstroke techniques and paint using a palette knife. This course of paintings will include a pg and lilacs.

Beginner Tennis Camp (ages 12-17)

This beginner tennis camp is for Middle School and High School students who would be interested in playing High School tennis. Students must be 12 years old by the first class date. This is an introductory course. Course content includes introduction to the game of tennis, basic rules and strategy, proper stroke technique, drills and scoring, singles & doubles play. Students should bring one can of tennis balls, a racquet, and a water bottle to class.

Beginning Cake Decorating
Cooking
Learn the basics of decorating your own cakes. We will learn shell borders, stars, rosettes, writing and many ways to decorate your cake beautifully. Each student will take home their own 8'' boxed cake to enjoy. There will be optional starter kits available for purchase from the instructor for an additional $12.00. Class is open to ages 8-16. (Gluten, nuts, and other ingredients will be used during this class.)

Creating with Clay Summer Camp
Art & Enrichment
This class is for those who love to create things with their hands. Students will learn how to create a variety of decorative objects out of clay (bowls, cylinders, picture frame, etc) using a pottery wheel, slab roller, and extruder. We’ll also experiment with different colored glazes. Please dress in “grubby” clothes. Participants are encouraged to bring an apron or towel. You are welcome to bring a water bottle and snacks. Class meets at Craig Seath's Studio (1023 7th St, Hudson, WI). Please go to the building/studio behind the house. An additional $35 clay and glaze fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class. Students may choose from either a morning or afternoon session.

Extreme Robotics: Battlebots

This camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO® building system’s versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working in teams, students will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of the day’s activities. The final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle. All equipment is provided. A guided one-on-one art session. Experiencing for the first time how to hold, use, wash and repeat. Children explore their environment, discover their independence, nature and develop emotional regulation. Create with your little one for the first time! Girls Introduction to Mountain Biking

Curious about riding that bike of yours off road? Mountain biking is a fast-growing activity surrounded by an extremely positive and supportive community that is excited to share it with others! Come join the St. Croix Valley Mountain Bike Girls Team coaches to learn some of the skills it takes to safely ride the trails and have a blast! Any bike in good mechanical condition with off-road tires will work. Helmets required. Some loaner bikes are available. Arrive 15 minutes early for a bike check and to sign waivers. Rain date is Sunday, May 19, same times.

Music
In this course, students will learn the basic essentials of music and the guitar. Topics will range from studying Music Theory to learning Basic Chords and strumming patterns. In the first two classes, students will learn basic picking and strumming techniques and a few basic chords. In the following two classes, students will learn basic music theory. In the final two classes, students will learn how to read basic music notation. Students need to bring their own guitar and an extra set of strings. This course is for students ages 12 and older.

In this course, students will continue to learn the basic essentials of music and the guitar. In the first two classes, students will learn to play extra chords. In the remaining four classes, students will learn how to play songs. A class recital will be held on the last class date. Students need to bring their own guitar and an extra set of strings. Students should have completed Guitar 101 or have basic familiarity with picking/strumming chords, basic music theory, and basic music notation.

High School Tennis Camp (ages 13-18)

High School Tennis Camp is for students currently playing tennis at High School level or USTA junior level tennis. This is an advanced camp and is intended to develop and improve a student’s skills and strokes. Students must be 13 years old by the first day of class. Camp content includes: advanced drills and strategy, proper stroke techniques including spins, proper footwork and court positioning, shot selection, Singles & Doubles strategy, winning mentally, power vs consistency, focus and concentration, and strength, stretching and fitness. Students should bring one can of tennis balls, a racquet, and a water bottle to class.

An exciting class for children and their parents, grandparents, or guardians where they can have fun learning about gardening and nature while creating fun craft projects. Planned projects include a special potted gift, learning how to grow plants with hydroponics, creating button windchimes, and enjoying a special treat while learning how to "Eat a Rainbow." Participants should bring or wear an old shirt/clothes that can get dirty or possibly paint splattered. Class is open to youth ages 5-12 and an accompanying adult. Recommendation is at least one accompanying adult for every 2-3 children.

Plein Air Painting

Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. This form of art is a flourishing trend in our art world. Georgia O'Keefe, Henri Matisse and Monet all created famous artwork outdoors, and we will too! Color group art games, learning the art of mark making, fast and slow artwork, and expressing our own style through art. Wear old clothes or send a smock. Tuition price includes all materials. Enjoy creating a refreshing splash of art by printmaking with different mediums on watercolor paper! In Session 1, we will create a Seashell Chalk Dot Print with Acrylic Bubble Wrap Print. Robotic Builders: Battlebots

Designed by the experts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), LEGO® WeDo Robotics’ unique system teaches students about simple machines, engineering, programming and so much more. Students may construct a catapult, ninja star, tank, battle axe, crossbow, and more in this camp! Students will be working in pairs. All equipment is provided. In the Little Stars/Big Stars tennis program, we highlight the fundamentals of tennis. These fundamentals include footwork, ball control, and racket control. As the class moves along, we move from small drills into mini games to practice these skills. In Spring Big Stars (ages 7-9), kids just starting out in tennis will have a blast in this class! Using fast-paced games and drills, your kids will learn the basic skills that will allow them to grow in the game. Please bring a Junior-sized racket and an unopened can of tennis balls. Some special lightweight rackets are provided, and smaller nets are used. Spring classes are taught inside a gym.

Advanced Big Stars (ages 9-12) This class is designed for kids who have previously participated in a Big Stars Tennis class or have some experience playing the game. Kids will continue to improve their tennis skills, practice varied drills and focus on keeping a positive mental attitude while playing the game. Using fast-paced games and drills, kids will expand their skills and continue to grow in the game. Please bring a Junior-sized racket, a can of unopened tennis balls and a water bottle. Please select the correct option (Beginner or Advanced) when enrolling your child. (Beginner is denoted with the color green, Advanced is in purple.)

Summer Gymnastics Camp

The Hudson High School Raiders Gymnastics team is holding their annual summer gymnastics camp! This 4-day summer camp is for all - no prior gymnastics experience is needed. All skill levels are welcome to come learn the basics or add to your current gymnastics skills. This camp will include time on all gymnastics equipment, crafts, games, team building and a performance at the end of the week for parents and family members to come and watch. Please have your child wear a leotard and bring a labeled water bottle and a snack. Participants will receive a hair scrunchie in Hudson Raiders colors! This camp is a fundraiser for the HHS Gymnastics team.

Super Mario Game Coding

This course will give you a hands-on experience developing your game using Scratch 3, a visual coding platform. Students will learn to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimensional, arcade-style Smash Bros-themed game. The first part of the class will be instructor-led. With any remaining time, students will have the opportunity to customize their games. Bring a USB drive to save your games. All equipment is provided. Price includes the use of all equipment.
