  • Monarch Tagging

Join Carpenter Nature Center to discover the amazing life cycle of the monarch butterfly, including their astounding migration to Mexico. Learn what conservation efforts can be implemented to help protect monarchs both in your backyard and abroad. Finally, we will head out to the prairie to catch, tag, and release as many wild monarchs as we can find! All children must be accompanied by a paid registered adult. After the program, join us for the FREE annual Carpenter Nature Center Art Festival showcasing local artists and their appreciation for the natural world. Please wear clothing appropriate for walking off-trail through long grass.
