Calling All Ladies! Owning The Power of Your Natural Female Hormones
Special Interest
Have you ever been called “hormonal” or asked “are you getting your period?” Have you felt dismissed—saying you are a “tired mom with children” or that “birth control is your only answer”? Have you felt “past your prime” or told your menopausal symptoms are “normal?” Hormones are critically important to our health and deserve much respect. Learn how to harness the power of your hormones. This class will be led by two Registered Naturopathic Doctors and is for all ladies ages 16+. We will discuss the major female hormones, their natural fluctuations, the health benefits and roles of these hormones, what symptoms can occur when they are disrupted, and active support that you can do at home in whatever natural female phase you are in to help you work with your hormones so you can thrive and feel your best. Both Dr. Danielle Vogler-Bos and Dr. April Jones are owners of their own private integrative medical practices and are licensed/registered Naturopathic Doctors that specialize in women’s health, focusing attention to menstrual, thyroid, adrenal, and skin conditions, as well as fertility and menopause support. The same instruction will be presented at each session; multiple sessions are offered for participant convenience.

Cell Level Meditation
Special Interest
Cell-level meditation involves recognizing the intricate relationship between cells, thoughts, emotions, and our body. You came into this world a perfect blend of high vibration for healthy cell activity. Every body system and organ functioned with ease and flow. Throughout life challenges, these relationships are hampered, and there can be a breakdown or disconnect. In this meditation series, we nurture a healthy environment for our cells to thrive through practices like meditation, mindfulness, affirmation, and self-awareness. Each student will receive an electronic journal. Students should bring a yoga mat and pillows/cushions.

Home Buying 101
Special Interest
Whether you're thinking about buying your first home or your third home, now's the time to create a plan for one of your biggest investments and what it means for your future. Home Buying 101 features three experts to help you understand the steps involved in purchasing a home. Jill will touch on understanding home values, timing of your purchase, market statistics and why it is important to have a realtor representing you during the transaction from start to finish. Most importantly a lender will explain the pre-approval process and the various mortgage finance options and why credit scores are crucial in the pre-qualification process. They will also share what you will need to apply for a loan and why timing is so important to help you find your dream home. Finally, a licensed Home Inspector will share why it is important to have a home inspection and Radon testing. Matt Rappel will share what he looks at during the home inspection and will discuss the importance of having a radon test conducted in the home you are wanting to buy. McNamee Real Estate Team/Keller Williams Realty does not charge a fee for this class. The fee for this class supports Community Education's operations.

Monarch Tagging
Special Interest
Join Carpenter Nature Center and discover the amazing world of the Monarch Butterfly. We start by learning about the life cycle of a butterfly, their importance in the environment and gain insight into their amazing migration to Mexico. We will also catch, tag and release wild monarchs. This data is then submitted to Monarch Watch and used for scientific research across North America. (Note: We will not be able to catch or release butterflies in the event of rain.) Students enrolled in the Monarch Tagging class are invited to stay after the class is finished to participate in a Pollinator & Native Plant Festival at the Carpenter Nature Center. This free event is scheduled from 12:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, and highlights native plants and invertebrate communities. Please wear clothing appropriate for walking off-trail through long grass. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
