A Taste of New Glarus and Wonders of Southern Wisconsin

Host: Betsy Ganz

Friday, October 6th - Sunday, October 8th

2 nights, 3 days

Join Hudson Community Education as we travel this fall to beautiful southern Wisconsin and discover the charm and Swiss heritage of New Glarus and surrounding areas. Guests will visit the Wetherby Cranberry Company’s bog during harvest, the Cranberry Discovery Center, and our State Capital in Madison. Guests will experience the warm hospitality at the Chalet Landhaus Inn as we check in, followed by a Swiss welcome dinner - fondue anyone? The following day we will explore the Swiss Historical Village, the Swiss United Church of Christ, free time for shopping in a variety of shops and lunch on your own. Try to find all 14 cows around town, imported from Switzerland and painted by area artists! The afternoon will include a tour of the National Cheese Making Center, the town of Monroe and a visit to a local cheese shop. Guests will finish a busy day at the Bailey Run Winery for a relaxing wine tasting & artisan pizza dinner. On the return trip home, we will stop for a guided tour of the famous Frank Lloyd Wright home, Tailesen, and finish the day at the Highground Veterans Memorial Park to pay tribute to those who served our country. This tour is not just about sightseeing, it’s about experiencing the history and wonders of southern Wisconsin!
